In Karyes, Mount Athos, the construction of a two-storey building, ancillary to the existing Cell was studied. A closed parking, storage spaces and a boiler room are formed inside the ground floor. On the other hand, a guestroom, used for the short-stay of the visitors, is shaped in the first floor. The building was designed in order to achieve a full accession to its historic environment.
As a result of the intense ground inclination and the existence of a stream near the construction place, the ground floor was built from reinforced concrete, covered by an external stone layer, whereas the first floor and the roof were designed as wooden structures according to the traditional standards.
